Meet the Team
It is the mission of Sherwood Pediatric Dentistry to provide exemplary pediatric dental care based on the highest levels of professional technique and gentle process. In maintaining this standard of excellence, we are dedicated to sustaining a professional environment that promotes the success of the families we serve, our doctors, and our employees. We are a practice of varying personalities, working together as one, and having fun in the process!
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our team is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a registered assistant, and our office team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the latest in technological advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars for CPR and OSHA.
Tori is one of our scheduling and hygiene coordinators. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2008. She has a BA in Linguistics and a minor in American Sign language. She is a Young Life Leader with Leander ISD and enjoys spending time with all of her amazing friends.
Blanca is our Lead Assistant. She has been with Sherwood Pediatric Dentistry since 2001. Blanca moved here from Honduras in 1986. She has been married since 1995 and has 2 daughters, Vicki and Dani. Blanca loves her job, especially working to help children. In her spare time she enjoys taking care of her house, her children, and her 3 dogs, Mitsy, Cricket, and Roxie.
David joined Dr. Sherwood’s team in 2006, and he handles the insurance and billing functions in addition to tracking our marketing efforts. David is dedicated to building a strong and efficient practice; one that offers expert care for our patients while providing a fulfilling working environment for our doctors and staff. A licensed Realtor for 15 years, David also represents residential buyers and sellers through continued referrals from past clients. When he isn’t working, David volunteers with The Center for Child Protection. He loves to spend time with his family at Lake Buchanan and has an unshakable loyalty to his close friends and loved ones. David lists Dr. Sherwood’s commitment to excellence as the thing he loves most about working for this practice.
Denise is our office manager. She loves the team she works with and the support that everyone shares. Denise has been with the office since early 2005. Her favorite things are gardening, reading, and family. She also enjoys hot summer days and nights and visiting the lake house.
Jessica is a dental assistant who joined our office in 2008. She really loves the team she works with and her job! Jessica likes making a child’s visit to the dentist an enjoyable event and a place that they are excited to return to. She married her high school sweetheart in 2003. They have 3 lovely children. When not at work Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and reading.
Michelle is our scheduling coordinator. She has been a part of the practice since 2004. Outside of the office she enjoys playing in the sunshine, traveling, reading, church, spending time with her friends and family, and taking her two dogs to the park and lake!!! She also enjoys going out and experiencing all Austin has to offer with its live music and fantastic dining venues!!!
Rachel is one of dental hygienists. She has been with our office since 2005 and has been a practicing dental hygienist since 1994. Rachel loves the challenges that working with children brings and the love they are so willing to give. Her favorite things are camping, family road trips, motivational walks with friends, and the beach. Let’s not forget those Red Raiders!
Robin is one of our highly trained dental assistants. She works with us part time. Robin enjoys the interaction with the patients as well as her other team members. When she is not working she likes to read, travel and spend time with family.
Marcella moved to Austin from San Francisco in 1995. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene. She has been with Dr. Sherwood since 2004. The highpoint of her job is the relationships she has developed with her patients and their excitement every time they return. Marcella married her high-school sweetheart Mario in 1996 and enjoys spending every minute of her spare time with her family. Marcella and Mario have one son and are planning an addition soon. She loves decorating, gardening, and everything Italian.
