Dr. Sherwood grew up in a small town called Panhandle, Texas. For his undergraduate academics, he attended the University of Texas at Austin. He was blessed with the opportunity to attend the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio and graduated Cum Laude. He then completed a post doctoral residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he received the honor of serving as Chief Surgical Resident. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has been in private practice in Austin since 1998.
Dr. Sherwood’s passion is caring for children with special needs. As the father of a child with cerebral palsy, he has a unique and compassionate perspective on helping to care for children with a variety of disabilities and challenges. Dr. Sherwood is the primary dental provider for the residents of Hope House, a home for children with severe and lifelong disabilities.
Dr. Sherwood is married to Krista and the couple has four wonderful children: Grant, Gabby, Garrett and Gregory. The Sherwoods are members of Grace Covenant Church.
In his spare time he loves playing basketball, exercising, coaching his kids in their various sports, and spending time with his family.
